A crowd of 140 gathered recently in Montoursville to dedicate the railroad bridge over Loyalsock Creek in memory of its engineer, John P. Conrad, who died in February after a fight with ALS. The bridge, completed by the Joint Rail Authority in 2014, replaced an earlier crossing that was severely damaged by flooding from Tropical Storm Lee in 2011. The bridge project was completed using federal, state, and local funds.
